We get offended when we bump into someone we did not expect to meet because they did not inform us that they were going to be at that particular place, or when they do something we did not think they would do. The lunacy of this is that no one owes you an explanation for their movements or their actions. When people let us into their lives, we tend to forget that they are complete beings with lives separate from ours, and we conflate them with ourselves. No one is obligated to you. Whatever someone decides to do is their choice, whatever you decide to do is your choice. This is highly liberating. When every undertaking becomes a choice, you only do the things that you genuinely want to do. Zero resentment, total commitment, complete authenticity.
