When someone tells you they like you, or they love you, are they stating a fact, or are they obligating you, silently yet explicitly asking you to like them in return, to love them back? Isn’t it enough to like or to love, or be liked or loved, without anything beyond that, with no further expectations or action?

  1. Oh, it is explicit. With an obligation to return the ardor in equal strength. No, it is not enough to love/like without reciprocity, when dealing with humans.
